Our mission is to share Christ's love with others and reaching out to people in the Brazos Valley and to Bridge the gap by helping join churches and other groups in serving together. The Bridge Ministries belongs to the Lord and our volunteers are His hands and feet. None of what we do would happen without their involvement and financial contributions.

Why we do what we do
The need is great
What’s the only thing that provides us confident hope in this hard, trying, and fleeting world?
Where would we all be without Jesus? … yikes!
--We are in just as much need as anyone who steps foot into the door as Jesus is all we need. That need doesn’t go away once we have trusted in Jesus. The only difference is we know and proclaim we are in need!
—We are not a place of “haves” helping “have nots”.
--We are a place where we meet people where they are and seek to introduce them to the one we all need, Jesus Christ.
The need is great
- Percent of poverty in Texas- 17.6%
- Percent of poverty in Brazos County- 29.8%
- That's a 12.2% increase from the state average!
- And it's not just college students that play into that percentage...
- Percent of the population under the age of 18 in poverty- 24.7%

The Beginning
The Bridge started as a bible study group led by Wayne Carroll and Monty Hunt that met once a week at Otis Instruments. After just a few months our group out grew that location and began using West Oak Baptist Church's facility. Not long after that El Calvario Baptist Church approached our group and donated their church building, 3 acres of land, a house, and $5,000 to The Bridge. That wonderful blessing led to the decision not to be a church but to instead be a Christian organization that seeks to unite churches behind the common goal of helping people in our community. We became an official 501(c)(3) Non-profit Organization in July of 2010. It became clear to us that the Lord was calling us to be much more than a bible study. He wanted us to be His hands and feet in our community. He gave us the call, and we said yes.

The name The Bridge has deep meaning to our organization. We believe that Jesus is the only bridge between fallen man and God. And that faith in Him is the only way to be saved from our sins so that we can have a relationship with God the father (John 14:6). As a ministry that seeks to represent Jesus Christ in all that we do it is our goal to be a place where Christian churches, no matter what denomination they are, can serve together as the body of Christ. In this way we strive to “bridge the gap” by bringing believers together.
