All members of organizations who plan to volunteer ​must fill out our waiver. This only needs to be done once.

This will route you to our SignUpGenius volunteer page where you can see all of our volunteer opportunities. Please note that if you do not complete the waiver and still sign up to volunteer, your volunteer slot is not secured and may be removed until the waiver has been filled out.

VOLUNTEER FAQ

• What should I expect?
  • Our volunteer shifts vary from outdoor/indoor opportunities that consist of helping us prepare for our weekly food distributions. Please read through the descriptions prior to signing up to volunteer. Some shifts have age requirements and require heavy lifting. 
  • Volunteers must be 16 years old to volunteer without a parent present.
  • All volunteers must fill out our waiver prior to their shift.

SHIFTS

• Rolling Bags
  • Volunteers will be indoors and will be given new or recycled plastic bags to count/sort through and roll
  • Age Requirement: 5+
• ​Truck Delivery and Food Stacking
  • Volunteers will be indoors/outdoors and will bring in the food delivered by the Brazos Valley Food Bank
  • Other volunteers will assist in restocking the pantry and preparing food boxes, snack bags and other needed tasks
  • Age Requirement: 10+
  • Heavy lifting required
• Bagging Canned Goods
  • Volunteers will be indoors and will create bags of canned food
  • Age Requirement: 5+
• Floater (morning shift)
  • Volunteers will be indoors and will be given different tasks to assist in preparation for distribution
  • Age Requirement: 5+​
• Pantry prep for distribution
  • Volunteers will be indoors and assisting with various tasks in order to prepare our pantry for our weekly distribution.
  • Age Requirement: 10+
  • Light lifting required
• Costco Delivery Unload
  • Volunteers will be indoors/outdoors
  • Age Requirement: 10+
  • Heavy lifting required
• Produce Sorting
  • Volunteers will be indoors and will be sorting/bagging produce, breads and sweets
  • Age Requirement: 10+
  • Heavy lifting required
• Distribution
  • Volunteers will be indoors/outdoors
  • Age Requirement: 10+
  • Heavy lifting may be required for cart pushers that help unload groceries 
  • Outside Car Loaders - Loading produce/bread into vehicles
  • Inside Car Loaders - Loading meat and 30lb food box into vehicles
  • Traffic Control - Helps direct traffic during drive-thru
  • Feminine Hygiene/Toiletry Handout - Handing out feminine hygiene/toiletries to clients
  • Floater - Assisting in various tasks throughout the distribution
